Therapy for children and teens

Children and teenagers carry difficult emotions too, even when they don't know how to express them. I work with children from age 6 and teenagers with warmth and patience.

my approach

How I can help

I adapt therapy to each child or teen. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help them recognize and manage emotions, trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT) when there have been difficult experiences, and a solution-focused approach with clear goals. Parents are an important part of the process.

What to expect

In the first sessions I get to know your child and talk with you about your concerns. We set goals together, and I keep you informed while respecting your child's trust.

Frequently asked questions

What ages do you work with?

I work with children from age 6, teenagers ages 13 to 17, adults and older adults.

Do parents take part in sessions?

Yes, in a way that fits the child's age. With younger children parents are more involved; with teens we protect a space of their own and share with parents what they need to support them.

Can my child do therapy online?

Many teenagers feel comfortable online. For younger children in-person sessions often work better; we can talk about it in the first session.
