my approach
How I can help
I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to identify and change the thoughts that fuel anxiety, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to relate differently to what you feel. We also practice breathing and relaxation skills and focus on concrete, solution-focused steps for your daily life.
What to expect
We start by understanding how anxiety shows up in your life. Then we choose the tools that work best for you and practice them between sessions, at your pace.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my anxiety needs therapy?
If worry or nerves keep you from resting, working, studying or enjoying your relationships, it's worth talking with a professional. You don't have to wait until it feels "serious" to ask for support.
Does anxiety therapy involve medication?
No. As a professional counselor I don't prescribe medication; I work with talk therapy and practical tools. If it would help, I can suggest when to consult a doctor or psychiatrist.
Can I do therapy online?
Yes. You can have your sessions by video from anywhere in Texas, or in person at my office in Rio Grande City.
