my approach
How I can help
I use cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), approaches designed to process traumatic experiences safely. First we build stability and skills to manage emotions; I never pressure you to talk before you're ready.
What to expect
You set the pace. We begin with safety and trust, and move step by step toward processing what you lived through.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to share everything in the first session?
No. You decide what to share and when. First we build trust and tools so you feel safe.
Do you treat trauma in children and teens?
Yes. Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) was designed for children and teenagers, and includes support for parents or caregivers.
What is PTSD?
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after living through or witnessing something very difficult. It includes intrusive memories, avoidance, mood changes and feeling on alert.
